Claude lets you add custom connectors: remote MCP servers, straight from the UI. CoreDash has one. Connect it and you can ask Claude about your Core Web Vitals and get answers based on actual field data, not guesses.

This takes about two minutes. No config files, no terminal commands. Three steps in the Claude UI.

What you need

  • A Claude account (Free, Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise)
  • A CoreDash account with an active project

Step 1: Add the custom connector

In Claude, go to Settings (bottom-left), then Connectors.

Scroll down and click Add custom connector. Paste the CoreDash MCP server URL:

https://app.coredash.app/api/mcp

Click Add. No advanced settings needed.

Team and Enterprise plans: An admin adds the connector in Organization settings first. Team members then connect it from their own Settings page.

Step 2: Authorize your CoreDash account

Click Connect on the CoreDash connector. Claude redirects you to the CoreDash OAuth page. Log in with your CoreDash account, pick the project you want to connect, and accept the permissions.

CoreDash handles the authentication. No API keys to copy, no tokens to paste. Claude never sees your password.

If you monitor multiple sites, you can repeat this for each project.

Step 3: Enable it in a conversation

Open a new chat (or an existing one). Click the + button in the message bar, then Connectors. Toggle CoreDash on.

Ask something to confirm it works:

"What are my current Core Web Vitals on mobile?"

If Claude calls get_metrics and returns real numbers from your site, you are live.

What Claude can do with CoreDash data

The MCP server has three tools. Claude discovers them automatically when it connects:

  • get_metrics: current performance scores. Filter by device, country, page, browser, or any of 25+ dimensions. Ask "What is the LCP for /product on mobile in Germany?"
  • get_timeseries: trends over time. Ask "Has INP regressed since last week?" It automatically flags improving, stable, or regressing trends.
  • get_histogram: distribution shape. Ask "Show me the CLS distribution on desktop." You will see whether your p75 comes from a long tail of slow loads or whether most users are slow.

All of this is real user data. The same 28-day, 75th-percentile data that Google uses for ranking.

Also works in Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP clients

Claude's custom connector UI is the fastest way to get started, but the same MCP endpoint works everywhere. For Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, and other MCP-compatible tools, see the full MCP server setup guide which includes JSON config examples for each client.

Troubleshooting

  • Claude does not show the connector tools: Make sure you toggled the connector on for the current conversation (+ button → Connectors).
  • "Unauthorized" or no data: Your OAuth session may have expired. Go to Settings, find the CoreDash connector, disconnect and reconnect it.
  • Wrong site data: You picked a specific project during the OAuth flow. To switch projects, disconnect and reconnect, then pick the other project.
